T.J. JACOBSEN
                     CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT

An Introduction-

T.J. Jacobsen, CPA has its roots in a Montana firm started in 1980 by Tim Jacobsen.  After working for CPA firms and private industry in Montana and Washington, Tim wanted to develop a firm which allowed him to work closely with each of the firm's clients.  Over the next 17 years Tim developed one of the premier CPA firms in the area.  Although it was not the largest in quantity, it was one of the best in quality.  He also saw a need to provide his clients with quality pension planning and administration so he established Montana Pension Administration, Inc. to serve his, and other firms', clients.

In 1997 Tim sold his firms and took a 3 year sailing sabbatical with his wife, Sharon.  When he returned to Seattle in 2000 he joined a large downtown CPA firm as Director of Tax Services and later became Managing Shareholder.  Although he enjoyed the challenge of serving a 60 person CPA firm, he wanted to return to practicing in the direct and personal way he had in Montana.  He left the firm in May of 2005 to re-establish T.J. Jacobsen, CPA.

Tim continues to work with small, closely-held businesses and professional service firms, their owners and select individuals in the areas of tax planning and compliance, and general business consulting. He consults in the areas of entity selection, buy-sell agreements, partnership agreement design, compensation planning, succession planning, and retirement plan selection.

His strong tax knowledge combined with his many years of working with the financial needs of a variety of businesses and individuals gives him the insight to help his clients operate in a sound and balanced financial manner.  He understands taxes are only one part of the overall financial consideration of his clients.  His clients appreciate his ability to communicate complex tax concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
